II.1.5) Short Description of the contract or purchase(s) "It is the intention of the the authority to tender for a learning platform, comprising software, services and support to meet the diverse needs of the local authority, it's schools and other learning centres. The application needs to support in the region of 25,000 pupils and staff. The authority envisages the majority of its schools (13 Secondary, 4 Special and 57 Primary Schools) using the learning platform. The application needs to be able to meet the authority's current and future legal requirements. The procurement of a new learning platform will be seen as an opportunity to build on the functionality of the existing provision and strengthen the tools and services available to enhance learning. It is the Authority's intention to offer this contract as three lots namely: a) MIS b) VLE c) ID Management Tenderers can bid for individual lots or any combination thereof. It is essential that the successful bidder for any of the lots works with the other potential suppliers to provide a fully integrated solution to meet the Authority's current and future needs."
