II.1.5) Short Description of the contract or purchase(s) Telford & Wrekin Council (the Authority) wishes to let a short term landfill contract for the disposal of its residual municipal waste. The contract period shall be for a minimum of three years commencing on the 1st April 2010 with the option of extending for a further 2 years. The Authority has projected the tonnages of waste per annum to be managed by the contractor (see Accompanying Documents, Service Specification, Section 7, Waste Quantity). Contractors are required to interpret the landfill capacity that will be required for the duration of the contract. Further information relating to this contract will be available from 24th July 2009 at 12.00pm. Your tender must be completed and submitted electronically using Vault through BiPs Delta-ets by the due date of 9th September 2009 at 12:01hrs. No other format will be accepted. Prior to the date for the submission of tenders, the Council may issue additional information or corrections to amend the requirements defined within the Tender Documents. Receipt of such amendments must be promptly acknowledged by the Tenderer via the Delta email system. The Authority reserves the right to require groupings of contractors to take a particular legal form or to require a single contractor to take primary liability or to require that each party undertakes joint and several liability.
