Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking to potentially enter into a procurement for a contract for routine and planned maintenance of highways including carriageways, footways, structures, drainage including gully emptying, traffic signs and bollards, barriers, road markings, other minor works, highway emergency response, temporary traffic management and winter maintenance. Maintenance of street lighting and traffic lights are not included within this procurement.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking to start procurement for routine and planned maintenance of highways The Council is taking a long term asset management approach to gain shared efficiencies and deliver savings in the future contract. Linked to this is investment of £26m capital in the first 2 years. Services being considered for inclusion are Reactive and planned carriageway maintenance, Reactive and planned footway maintenance, Minor improvement schemes, Safety schemes, Drainage schemes, Structural maintenance, Transport asset maintenance i.e. barriers, non-illuminated signs and bollards, Winter maintenance, Temporary traffic management, Emergency response, Gully cleansing, Barrier tensioning. Street lighting and traffic lights are not included. For the purpose of this PIN, the Council's contract value of £280m is based on the assumption of a 7 year contract + 7 year extension. The Council will be asking for the markets view in the questionnaire released with this PIN.

This is a notice to advertise market testing sessions (2 & 3 May 17) with interested companies to inform the future procurement process. The will involve a confidential meeting with each company that has submitted the questionnaire available with this notice. Meeting times will be allocated in the order questionnaires are received from each company & confirmed by the Council by 13 April 2017.
