II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
The requirement is for the design, build and ongoing delivery of a high needs/dementia extra care scheme that will make optimum use of the site area available but should deliver a minimum of approximately 50 units. The scheme will be used for those clients whose needs are too high to be managed in traditional extra care schemes and will provide an alternate to residential and Elderly Mentally Infirm (EMI) residential services. Interest should only be submitted by organisations who have the capability and capacity to undertake the work.

The scheme will be the first in helping to deliver a longer term transition from Residential care to a housing based model of care for people with higher needs and dementia. It will be used to enable the decommissioning of other existing residential/EMI residential homes that are no longer fit for purpose.

The scheme will be need to be in operation by 2020/21, consideration will be given to a phased delivery to help with earlier delivery.
